REVIEW : Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain in "#15 Rose Vinyl"

Hi folks!
After an all-play holiday.. Time to hit the blog again!

This time, I want to review my newest lip product -I have soft spot for lip colors, you know,-
This is also my very first high-end make up brand I've purchased; Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain. Whew, what a looooonnnggg name for a lip stain/gloss. The shade I choose was #15 Rose Vinyl.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain - Box & Product

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain #15 Rose Vinyl

I've been raving for this stuff since last month, when someone in Fake Cosmetics Alert!! (FB) Group mentioned this product. She even provided a review link! I really love it!
Since I haven't gotten myself a bright pink lip product, and also don't have a lip stain too, I decided to buy this!

I've been searching for this stuff firstly by an online shop, Nona Lenongholic, but she ran out of stock. Then, I decided to look for it at YSL counters, but the stock for this shade is really rare! It's been out of stock in several malls. I obtained this at South Jakarta's newest mall, Kota Kasablanca for IDR 320.000 (USA's Sephora sells it for the same price, USD 32,00)

PACKAGING (4.5/5)
This product comes in a shining gold box. The container is black with a small "window" to peek the shade inside. However, this peeking window is kinda deceptive. xD.. The container's cap is gold, with YSL's logo embossed on it. The packaging seems sturdy and luxurious, as I expected from a high-end product like YSL. :D

COLOR (5/5)
The shade I choose is #15 Rose Vinyl, which seems like a dusty pink from the container's "window", but it's actually a vibrant hot pink. Very pretty <3

APPLICATION (5/5)
My favorite thing from this product (aside its color, of course), is the applicator. It's a doe-foot, slanted, and pentagonal-shaped. The pointy tip is great to make your lip more defined. It also prevents the product to get out of line. It also makes my lips looks 3-Dimensionally plumpy.

PRODUCT AND LONGEVITY (4.5/5)
As I've explained in the beginning, this products serves dual functions; as stain and as gloss. To use it as lip stain, you just need to apply it thinly. (Only one layer needed, or you can also dot the product on your lips and blend it with fingertip). Add more layer on it to turn it into a gloss.

This product is also long lasting. It took me approximately 4 hours before the shade began to fade slightly, even  though I did have drinks. It doesn't dry out my lips too! In fact, it helps moisten my lips ><

OVERALL : 4.5/5!
I am very satisfied with this product. I might purchase another shade, since the other shades are also pretty!

EXTRA!!! : Bold Lips Makeup Tips + FOTD
Basic principle to look fresh and young when using bold colors is BALANCE. For example, if you do a bold eye makeup, keep your lips nude, and if you wear a bold lip color, keep your eye makeup as neutral as possible. Fully nude eyes and lips would make you look sick, while fully bold look would make you look older.

Here, I created a light brown smokey eyes to balance out my bold lips. I use brown gel liners which is not as bold as black. I also smudged the same brown gel liner on the outer half of my lower lash line, to create the smokey look. Make it bolder on the outer corner to make your eyes appear bigger. [Click the picture for bigger view]

Eye Makeup :
-Brow : E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow Treat & Tame in "Medium" (Tame Side)
-E.L.F. Studio Eye Primer & Line Sealer (Primer Side)
-UD Ammo Eyeshadow Box (Sin for base color, Maui Wowie for upper Lashline, Chopper for Crease, and Polyester Bride for Browbone)
-Eyeliner : Physician's Formula Gel Eyeliner for Blue Eyes (Brown shade)
-Mascara : Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Lengthening Mascara

Face tips : use a natural colored blush so your lips would stand out nicely. Match the shade with your skin undertone. For example, my skin undertone is warm, so I use a peachy-pink blush for a naturally blushed look.

Face makeup :
-Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as Primer
-Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen "Wow" SPF 25++ Foundation in "Believe in me, Ivory"
-Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in "Light"
-Benefit Box o' Powder "Hervana"

Note : I am NOT a professional makeup artist. This tips is purely based on my own experience in doing makeup to myself. Thus, this might be imperfect. :) I do accept all kind of critics and suggestions.

Thanks for reading.
